The past three weeks have been busy to say the least! Besides the hustle and bustle of the holidays, our oldest daughter moved to Olympia, Washington. My sister-in-law and I took a cross country drive with her and her pets over the New Year’s weekend. She had all of her belongings shipped out there, but had to drive the animals out. We made the 28 hour drive from Missouri to Washington within 32 hours. We drove through a lot of beautiful countryside and some mountains that I don’t care to ever drive through again! LOL! I’m not a fan of the steep slopes and twists and turns. We stopped in Rock Springs, WY to pretty much take a nap at 2 am and were back on the road again by 6 am. This trip was exhausting physically and emotionally. Fortunately, we were blessed with good weather the majority of the way. The only bad weather we encountered was going through the Snoqualmie Pass and that was just during about the last hour of the trip.
I’m back and recovered and ready to get back to homesteading and blogging. I’ve been doing some crocheting and photography. My husband has been putting a forge together and is working on getting a blacksmith shop set up. He also got my new garden spots tilled up and I’m anxious to get them planned out and seeds ordered. I’ll be sharing more details and pictures in future blogs.
There’s going to be a lot going on this Spring and I can’t wait to share it with you.
